Jewtina y Co.'s inaugural Latin-Jewish Film Festival will take place across Los Angeles and celebrates Latin-Jewish identity through cinema, bringing together Los Angeles' Jewish community through three carefully selected films screened over three months. Designed primarily for LA's young professional community, the festival resonates with all interested in exploring multicultural Jewish identities, Latin American culture, and meaningful cross-cultural dialogue.
Hosted at various venues throughout Los Angeles, this cinematic journey showcases diverse Jewish narratives from Latin America, fostering deeper cultural understanding and community connections. The festival creates essential spaces for Latin-Jewish young adults and community members to see their experiences authentically reflected on screen while building bridges between diverse Jewish communities in Los Angeles.
By challenging assumptions about Jewish and Latin American identities and fostering dialogue about multicultural Jewish experiences, we inspire the LA community to explore and celebrate their intersectional identities. Through these powerful stories, we aim to strengthen bonds between Jewish young adults across cultural backgrounds while highlighting the rich heritage of Latin American Jewish life.
The festival serves as both a cultural celebration and a vital platform for community building among members, allies, creative artists, community leaders, and culture enthusiasts throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
This special initiative is presented in collaboration with NuRoots, a young adult initiative of the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles, and the Jewish Film Institute.
Don't miss this groundbreaking celebration of Latin-Jewish cinema in partnership with NuRoots, featuring honored guests like Rabbi Daniel Mehlman, Mexican-Jewish director Guita Schyfter, and award-winning author Ruth Behar.
