At Jewtina y Co., advocacy means elevating Latin-Jewish voices to address the unique challenges and opportunities our community encounters. Through intentional engagement, we create space for healing from antisemitism, racism, machismo, and xenophobia, while championing coalition building, gender justice, immigration reform, voter access, and cultural inclusion. We advocate for policies that promote equity and justice for both Latin and Jewish communities. By amplifying our intersectional identities, we ensure that our diverse narratives are not only heard but help shape a more inclusive and equitable world.
Coalition Building
Jewtina y Co. actively work to interrupt antisemitism and xenophobia. Through collective action with allies, we amplify our shared values of justice and inclusion, ensuring that our voices are stronger together in the fight against hate. These coalitions create opportunities for dialogue, mutual understanding, and solidarity, paving the way for a more unified and equitable world.
Gender Justice
We are dedicated to advancing gender justice by actively challenging machismo within both Jewish and Latin community spaces. Through community programs that address gender inequity, LGBTQ+ inclusion, reproductive health, toxic masculinity and consent, we foster an understanding of the impact of patriarchy and work toward creating a culture of inclusivity.
Immigration Reform
As an organization deeply rooted in the Latin-Jewish experience, we are committed to advocating for immigration reform that embodies compassion and justice. Through initiatives like our Caminos Fellowship with Uri L'Tzedek, we engage community members in critical conversations on modern human migration, Jewish global movement, and immigration reform.
Voting Access
Jewtina y Co. works to ensure that Latin and Jewish communities are informed, engaged, and empowered to exercise their right to vote. By advocating for expanded voter access, we aim to dismantle barriers to civic participation and promote fair representation for all members of our communities.
