We invite you to join this special celebration of two cultures whose traditions of memory run parallel, co-presented by Jonah Platt (Being Jewish podcast, 1M+ downloads), Jewtina y Co., and NuRoots, with additional community partners pending, including Ikar and Bet Tzedek.
Día de los Muertos and Jewish practices of remembrance both turn grief into gathering, and loss into a reason to come together. This is a bridge-building event: Latino/e and Jewish communities sharing space, ritual, and tradition. It's multigenerational by design, with dedicated programming for kids and families, a young adult program built around a panel and marketplace, and shared moments - the community ofrenda, live music - that bring everyone into the same room. The marketplace itself doubles as a platform for local Latino and Jewish small businesses and artists to be seen by a community built to support them.
Sunday, October 25th, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM PT, at the Holocaust Museum of LA.
The Día de los Muertos Event is a community celebration for Latino and Jewish Angelenos of all ages — families, young adults, and allies who want to take part in a joint tradition of memory and gathering. We anticipate 250+ multigenerational attendees, building on last year's turnout of 200, and expect the crowd to reflect the genuine overlap and diversity of LA's Latino and Jewish communities.
