ROOTAS CHILE

ROOTAS Chile is an immersive Latin-Jewish travel experience designed for young adults from Los Angeles who are eager to deepen their sense of identity, community, and global connection. From Monday, February 16 to Sunday, February 22, participants will journey together as a cohort to learn, explore, and engage directly with Chile’s vibrant culture, rich history, and diverse Jewish community.

Through site visits, conversations with local leaders, encounters with Chilean Jews, and hands-on cultural activities, participants will gain new perspectives on Latin American Jewish peoplehood. Alongside these experiences, the cohort will build a network of peers who share a commitment to elevating Latin-Jewish stories.

Pre-Trip Meeting

Post-Trip Initiatives

All participants are required to attend a mandatory pre-trip meeting that will take place 4 weeks before departure, and provide important context for our journey to Chile. This session will cover trip framing, safety guidelines, itinerary details, include an overview of Jewish Chile, and provide an opportunity to meet fellow travelers.

Post-Trip Initiatives

Post-Trip Initiatives

Post-Trip Initiatives

Every participant is asked to bring their learning to life by creating one post-trip initiative that shares the insights and experiences of ROOTAS Chile with their community in Los Angeles.

These participant-led programs extend the impact of your ROOTAS journey, building bridges between communities and ensuring the stories you encounter in Chile continue to inspire long after you return.
